PROCEDURE FOR LICENSING YOUR DOG
Apply for dog license at the Bergen Town Clerk's Office, in Town Hall,
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Current Rabies Certificate and spaying or neutering certificate (if applicable) is needed at the time of licensing. Owners of guide, hearing, police work, or service dogs must provide proof of such and the license is free.
Fees:
Spayed female or neutered male $5.00
Unspayed female or unneutered male $18.00
RENEWAL FOR LICENSING YOUR DOG
Your dog's license is renewable upon receipt of the renewal application which is sent to you directly from the State. If you fail to purchase your dog's license within the month it is due, you will receive a delinquent notice from the Town Clerk. The Dog Control Officer and Shelter Services Every city, Town, and Village must provide dog services in order that the state and local dog laws and ordinances may be enforced and that lost and stray dogs may be picked up and humanely cared for until they can be reunited with their owner.

If your dog is seized, to redeem the dog, the owner must pay an dog redemption fee ($10.00) to the Town Clerk, and have a NYS dog license before a dog can be returned to owner.
